About Gift of Hope Initiative

With a noble and upright vision of giving back to the Himalayan communities, we launched yet another initiative called “Gift of Hope”. This flagship donation drive aims at extending support to underprivileged children of the Himalayan region. It is well-supported by our trekkers who make their valuable contributions in the form of books, sports accessories, clothing, and other relevant gifts.

The distant Himalayan territory is usually associated with harsh weather, rugged terrains, lesser facilities, and remoteness. Apart from that, certain segments of people struggle for education, healthcare, and recreational amenities. In view of this fact, the Gift of Hope attempts to bridge that gap by providing assistance, learning, comfort, human touch, and genuine favor. More importantly, this worthy initiative not only gives children hope for a brighter tomorrow but also fills them with aspirations to do something big.

With a strong foundational belief for supporting local communities, we normally organize our Gift of Hope donation drive three times a year in order to help underprivileged people of the mountains. We also believe in promoting the philosophy that the true expedition lies not only in navigating treacherous terrains but also in delving into humanitarian causes. The thrill of adventure can also be used to nurture the lives of people and help them in becoming the better version of themselves.

How Exactly Is Gift of Hope Organized

Our trekkers play a vital role in this donation drive. Whenever they book their treks with us, we invite them to make voluntary contributions in their own way and we continue collecting them. When we have gathered enough items from them, we also make the rest of the contribution from our side as well. Then our team conducts the special donation drive by selecting any one of the remote Himalayan villages.

To make it more engaging, we also surprise our contributors with a lucky draw event at the donation camp in order to acknowledge their selfless efforts. Hence, the name of a lucky winner is chosen randomly who receives a special gift from us. Gift of Hope underlines our ethics that if a society is to succeed and make a difference, bright minds should have access to all the resources and essential education.

The essence of this donation drive is not about making an act of charity, it’s about being empathetic and compassionate to nurture dreams and contribute to strengthen communities. This act of valuable support will surely help inspire the next generation of achievers.

Recent Gift of Hope Donation Drives

Osla Village (November 2, 2025)

On 2nd November 2025, Trek The Himalayas’ Gift of Hope donation camp was held in Osla Village, which is located near Sankri Base Camp in the Uttarkashi district. The recipients of this donation drive were 150 + kids from local schools, including Sampurna Adarsh Vidyalaya, Prathmik Vidyalaya, and the Anganbadi School. The main equipment that was distributed in the camp was mainly stationery and sports items, considering education and overall growth of young talent. It was a success because of some people’s dedication and support along with our trek leaders. The people present at the venue were Mr. Ajay Rawat (Sankri Base Camp Manager), Mr. Ramesh Lal (Osla Village Gram Pradhan), trek leaders – Ayushi, Pankaj, and Deepak. These people participated wholeheartedly in this kind gesture to spread happiness, joy, and inspiration among kids.

Goechala (November 14, 2025)

On the occasion of Children’s Day, 14th November, 2025, the Gift of Hope donation drive of Trek The Himalayas reached Goechala to organize the camp. A significant part of the donation was made by many trekkers across the country, and our team donated their contribution to the children of Goechala. The students of Tshong Primary School received these gifts in the form of stationery and sports items. The distribution ceremony was conducted in the presence of Dinesh Da, our local vendor of Goechala Trek. Besides, our Trek Leaders, Mukesh Giri and Sunita Thapa came forward and volunteered selflessly in this humanitarian cause from our side. Everybody’s collective efforts turned this event into a memorable celebration of unity and the spirit of giving back to the community. With a commitment to bring a meaningful change around us, we will continue this selfless initiative for a brighter future of underprivileged children
